The European Journal on Youth Policy is a European information and communication project carried out by IJAB, Germany, INJEP, France and the NYA, United Kingdom. The purpose of this specialist publication with a distinctive profile of a broad European dimension of youth policy is to bring national youth policies closer together and keep the ongoing European dialogue about the key problems of national youth policies on a solid, high-level foundation in terms of content, expertise and politics. The Journal promotes putting the main emphasis of the whole diverse range of specialist fields of national youth policies and the models put forward in an endeavour to solve individual problem areas to a European audience for discussion.
The Journal is published on the website www.coe.int/youth/forum21 by the Directorate of Youth and Sport of the Council of Europe based on common goals of favouring a European dialogue about the key issues of youth policies. Because of existing language barriers, information from those countries whose languages are not in widespread international use may not find its way into the mainstream of the European exchange of opinion and experience. The structure of the Journal with contributions in three possible languages – English, French and German – and detailed abstracts in the other two languages ensures wide access to the information concerned. From issue No 9 (June 2007) texts are also available in Russian. The Internet version bears fully translated texts in all three languages as well as in the original version in the case the paper was presented in another language as the three main ones indicated above.
